New clue may help identify deceased man
Medical examiner's office asks for help identifying the body of a deceased man
Calgary... The Calgary medical examiner's office is asking for assistance in identifying a deceased man whose body was discovered in a wooded area in the South Glenmore Park on April 17, 2005.
Calgary Police issued a news release asking for assistance on April 21, 2005 and the medical examiner's office did receive a few calls, but the individual has yet to be identified. Since the initial request for assistance, two factors have led to another request for the public's assistance. First, the medical examiner has released a stamp, which may symbolize a family crest, found in possession of the deceased. Second, the medical examiner's office and the public trustee's office are preparing to have the man's body buried in a grave marked unknown. Before the individual is buried, the medical examiner's office would like to make one more attempt at contacting a relative or friend of the deceased.
Despite exhaustive efforts, investigators have not been able to establish the man's identity. He is described as possibly Asian in his late teens or early 20s, between five foot ten and six feet, 150 pounds with short black hair, with frosted tips.
Investigators believe the individual's first name may be Jay as two key tags bearing this name were found attached to a backpack in his possession. In addition, the name Jay was printed on the inside cover of a red Korean/English bible in the man's possession.
When the deceased man was found, he was wearing a black leather jacket, white Nike running shoes, and blue jeans with a black and white stripe running down the outside seam of the legs. He was carrying a black backpack.
Anyone with information that may help identify this man is asked to contact the Calgary medical examiner's office at (403) 297-8123.
