Affordable housing solutions that meet local community needs are crucial to individuals securing employment, supporting their families and contributing to their communities. Through the Affordable Housing Partnership Program (AHPP), Civida received $14.9 million in bilateral funding to build their redeveloped Lendrum affordable housing complex. The project was funded and completed in partnership with Civida, the City of Edmonton and the Government of Canada.

The Lendrum redevelopment project replaced 48 units previously on the site with 72 affordable housing units and 48 mixed-income units for a total of 120 units. The development has a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units and is located close to Edmonton’s South Campus LRT station and transit centre. Tenants began moving into this facility on November 1.

Alberta’s government has invested nearly $780 million to build more than 4,600 units and 350 shelter spaces since 2019. In 2023, the government announced $124.7 million in funding for 30 projects and 1,100 units through the Affordable Housing Partnership Program.
