“Alberta Works Week helps Albertans pursue their potential and contribute to Alberta’s economy through free information and events across the province. This week focuses on connecting Albertans to the workforce through Government of Alberta programs and services, so they are equipped with the right skills to gain employment and build a rewarding career.”

Human Services Minister Manmeet S. Bhullar

Over 100 events will be hosted in more than 30 communities in Alberta Works Centres, community halls, schools and other locations.  Staff from various government departments will be working side-by-side with community stakeholders and employers supporting events across the province.

“It was a great opportunity to be part of Alberta Works Week. We are happy to again be a part of an event that offers one stop shopping for a variety of information topics and activities, and I look forward to being part of this year’s activities.”

Roberta Kuzyk-Burton, Community Learning Advocate, Careers, Calgary Public Library

Alberta Works Week events include speed dating for jobs, trades awareness fairs, and presentations targeted to employers on the benefits of hiring persons with disabilities.

Throughout the week, online success stories will highlight how Albertans overcame challenges and achieved employment success through government programs and services.  These stories highlight the targeted support received by youth, persons with disabilities, Aboriginal people, mature workers, and new Canadians.
